During the spring break, I visited several museums to do primary research for my museum design project. I visited the American Museum of Science and Technology, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and Historic Railpark and Train Museum.
Except for the awesome exhibitions, what raised my attention and curiosity is how they design the user experience through elaborated routes, story telling scenes and interesting interactions.
The picture on the left was taken at the Country Music Meseum. This is a wall full of CDs. Each CD on the wall is an award-winning CD of that year. Whole wall together tells the history of American Country Music.
Picture on the right was taken at the American Museum of Science and Technology. The room has three walls. The core of it is just one computer shown in the picture, but they build three painted walls around it to create a space for storytelling.
